New on Our Directory: Meet These 6 Organizations Driving Impact in Haiti and the Diaspora
At Centre NGO, we want to make Haitian-led and Haiti-focused organizations around the world more visible and give them a voice. As part of that objective, we’re happy to add six new organizations to our nonprofit list. Each one is working to meet essential needs in education, mental health, community development, cultural preservation, and faith-based outreach.
Whether you’re a donor, partner, or fellow changemaker, we invite you to learn more about their work and contact them directly for ways to collaborate, assist, or elevate their efforts.
Haitian Community Help & Support Center (HCHSC)
Based in Springfield, Ohio, HCHSC is a vital resource hub for Haitian immigrants and their families. From immigration support to workforce development and social services, they help new arrivals navigate their journey with dignity and confidence.
Jefferson Park Ministries, Inc. (JPM)
Founded in 2002, Jefferson Park Ministries, Inc. (JPM) is a 501(c)(3) faith-based nonprofit organization located in Elizabeth, New Jersey. With a mission to serve immigrant families and youth, JPM implements services and programs that address community needs and promote empowerment. Their offerings include support coordination, youth services, immigration assistance, a food pantry, the Foster Grandparent Program, and a family success center. JPM is dedicated to being the heart, hands, and voice for those who cannot help themselves, striving to become the primary resource for programs and services contributing to individual and family stability among Haitian and other immigrant groups.
In Cultured Company
Established in 2018, In Cultured Company is a Dominican and Haitian collective dedicated to narrative change, leadership development, and civic engagement. Committed to socioeconomic justice, racial equity, decolonization, and liberation, ICC provides Dominican and Haitian youth spaces to learn, heal, dream, build power, and take action together. Their mission is to equip Dominicans and Haitians with the knowledge and skills to advocate for social justice, healing, wholeness, and peace. Through initiatives like the Decolonizing Hispaniola Workshop and a fellowship program, ICC fosters cross-cultural understanding and solidarity, envisioning a sacred and interconnected island and diaspora where everyone experiences love, liberation, and belonging.
Association Haitienne de Psychologie (AHPsy)
Founded in 2011, AHPsy is a professional network of Haitian psychologists working across clinical, community, and academic settings. The organization promotes mental health awareness, provides psychological support—including a national helpline—and advocates for better mental health policy in Haiti. AHPsy also partners with international bodies like the American Psychological Association to strengthen mental health services.
Foundation Toya
Founded in 2007 and inspired by Haitian revolutionary Victoria “Toya” Montou, Fondation TOYA is a feminist nonprofit organization based in Delmas, Haiti. The foundation empowers girls and young women aged 8 to 30 through leadership development, capacity building, psychosocial support, and advocacy for gender equality. Their programs focus on promoting leadership, enhancing technical and socio-professional skills, and providing support for survivors of gender-based violence. With over 2,000 girls impacted and over 1,500 survivors assisted in 2023 alone, Fondation TOYA is fostering a generation of empowered female changemakers in Haiti.
NORTHWEST HAITI MINISTRIES, INC.
Northwest Haiti Ministries, Inc. is a faith-based nonprofit that provides quality Christian education to children in rural Northwest Haiti. Founded in 2010, the organization established Nazarite Christian School in Passe Catabois, serving over 436 students from Pre-K through 10th grade. The school offers daily meals, employs 45 local staff members, and is the largest employer in the area. Current initiatives include expanding the school to include grades 11 and 12, constructing a high school building, and enhancing facilities with solar power and water infrastructure to support the growing student body.

Each of these organizations is a testament to Haitian communities’ strength, resilience, and vision — both at home and abroad.
