2025 Annual Report: A Year of Depth, Learning, and Community-Led Impact

When work is guided by strong values, it can make a difference without needing to be loud. Centre NGO’s 2025 Annual Report shows this, highlighting a year focused on meaningful growth, honest learning, and a stronger commitment to the Haitian-led and diaspora-led organizations at the center of our community.

We are proud to share what we accomplished with the community, partners, and supporters who made it all possible.

Capacity Building at the Core

In 2025, Centre NGO ran the second and third groups of its main program, Global Connect for Change (GCC). The program supported 17 organizations in different countries and provided over $9,600 worth of in-kind capacity-building help. Achievements included finishing organizational assessments, preparing funder matchmaking briefs, and giving access to more than 20 recorded learning modules. These resources helped organizations improve their operations and get ready for funding, all for free.

The feedback from participants was clear. One person from Cohort 2 said, “It helped us reconnect with theory while applying practical fundraising tools to our organization’s context.” Every survey respondent (100%) said they were satisfied and would recommend the program. That speaks volumes.

Cohort 3, held in summer 2025, took the work even further. It focused on onboarding, accountability, and getting participants ready to engage, which led to better collaboration. Five out of six organizations in this group were based in Haiti. Lessons from both cohorts are already helping Centre NGO improve the program, with more focus on local leadership and stronger onboarding.

Learning That Travels

In 2025, iLearn Saturday, Centre NGO’s open-access training series, continued to grow. There were 132 registrations across 12 sessions, with people joining from Haiti, the United States, Tanzania, Barbados, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zimbabwe, and Trinidad & Tobago. The most popular sessions covered data-driven decision-making, funder and donor communications, and grant readiness, giving nonprofit practitioners practical knowledge they could use right away.

Asking the Questions That Matter

In 2025, Centre NGO started the Haitian Diaspora Engagement in Philanthropy Survey to learn more about how the Haitian diaspora gives, what builds their trust, and what holds them back. The survey reached 592 people, and 35 completed it. The results showed that diaspora donors really value transparency, want to be involved beyond just giving money—like sharing skills, time, and expertise—and prefer long-term development over crisis response. The survey confirms what many already know: relationships and trust are at the heart of all philanthropy.

Conversations Worth Having

As part of the Reimagining Philanthropy + Haiti series, we hosted three Organizations to Know sessions in 2025, highlighting SOIL, Barbancourt Foundation, and KAW Academy. In Haiti, we tried a hybrid model that allowed for both local production and virtual participation, making it easier for more people to join and share stories from their communities. The organization also led focused discussions, including one about working with the IDB’s changing priorities, featuring Jean-Emmanuel Desmornes of the Inter-American Development Bank. More conversations from 2025 are being prepared and will be released in 2026.

Stewardship and Honesty

In 2025, Centre NGO continued to run in a lean, volunteer-driven, and transparent way. The founder paid all cash expenses ($13,896), and no staff received salaries. In-kind platform contributions added up to $9,628, making the total operational value $23,524. Membership dues came to $541.61. Sharing these numbers shows our commitment to transparency, which we also expect from the organizations we support.

Looking Ahead

In 2025, we learned that focusing on fewer, deeper partnerships led to better results. Building trust, helping organizations prepare for increased participation, and choosing the most engaged partners ensured resources were used effectively. These strategies led to lasting, meaningful changes in our ecosystem that go beyond any single program cycle.

This year, we plan to build on this foundation by expanding GCC cohorts with better onboarding, continuing iLearn Saturday with improved content, investing in our Nonprofit Directory and data platform, and growing our membership model. Our goal is to stay sustainable while keeping access free for organizations with fewer resources.

The work goes on, and it’s the community that makes it all possible.
