GOOD SAMARITAN PROJECT OF HAITI INC

The Good Samaritan Foundation of Haiti is committed to providing quality education and food security to the communities we support in rural Haiti. Our educational programs and sustainable agriculture programs are interlinked, with half of all food for school meals produced on-site at our school farm. We believe every Haitian child should be educated and well-nourished to give them an opportunity for a better future.

FRIENDS OF HAITI IN NEW YORK CORP

In 2007, the first seed was planted when 60 children gathered under a tarp as a make-shift primary school. Two years later, thanks to a $15,000 donation from the Spanish government, we were able to build a solid structure with four classrooms. In 2014, a generous donation by the Digicel Foundation enabled us to add a middle school. The school grounds have gradually expanded since then to include a variety of initiatives to complement the challenges facing our students. It now holds a community center, medical clinic, cafeteria, ground water tower, corn grinder facility, and food forest. Our next project is to round out a full education with a technical high school. Its modern, sleek design is meant to inspire our students to reach into the future.

FAITH FOR HAITI FOUNDATION

For 12 years, the Have Faith Haiti Mission and its nearly 100 residents and workers were housed inside a cramped, third-of-an-acre concrete rectangle. Over time, the streets grew dangerous. And we backed up to a sewage/trash treatment facility. For the health, safety and future of our children, we needed to move. Finally, we have. Our new home gives us room to grow for decades, and our kids are thriving in a welcoming, green-space environment. But transferring operations, refurbishing existing structures and building what we need requires funding. That’s why we created the Mission to Move Fund.
