HAITIAN PILGRIMS

The Haitian Pilgrims serve the poor of Haiti in the spirit of Christ’s teaching: “Whatsoever you did to these, the least of my brothers and sisters, you did to me.” (Matthew 25:40). Our mission is sustained through the generosity of those who share our passion for serving the poor through their donations of prayer, time, talent, and funding. We strive to transform poor villages into thriving, self-sustaining communities. Since 1999, we have been helping several villages in Haiti become self-sustaining. Villages we have helped include, Boileau, Canon, Flamand & Dumont. We help them help themselves through community leadership, education, micro-credit, agriculture training, medicine, and wells for clean water. Our vision’s path to a self-sustaining village has been supported by six foundational pillars: Food – an agricultural program assists farmers with healthy seeds, seedlings, and livestock Water – clean water wells prevent illness from water borne diseases found in river water Medicine – medical support can include doctors, nurses, clinics and medical supplies Education – kindergarten, primary, secondary, college scholarships and adult education courses Employment – micro-credit loans enable men and women to start their own businesses Leadership – teams learn organizational and leadership skills that help their villages Haitian Pilgrims does not discriminate based on the race, gender, or religious affiliation of those who request help.
