The content is researched and compiled by volunteers but maintaining a web site and other administrative needs cost money. Please help us continue our work by donating today. Thank you!

HAITI SCHOOL PROJECT

The Haitian people face many challenges both in advancing their country out of poverty and in meeting life’s daily demands. The long-term solution for Haiti lies in its people and institutions. Only when the Haitian people are in a position to help themselves can the country emerge from abject poverty and political turmoil. We at the Haiti School Project believe that the most effective and efficient means of promoting self-sufficiency and economic development in Haiti is through collaboration with the Haitian people on education of the next generation. We are committed to helping Haitian youth learn the skills and develop the tools to achieve personal stability and prosperity while preparing them to lead their country out of poverty and toward sustainable growth.

HAITI SHARE INC

The Haiti Share mission is to facilitate the intellectual, spiritual, and character development of Haitians who demonstrate leadership potential and to assist them in becoming self-supporting, responsible, community-minded members of their society. We see a future with a substantial number of spiritually vibrant, mentally focused, and emotionally mature young Haitians, supporting themselves and their families and reaching out in small groups of like-minded Haitians to relieve the life-crushing burdens of their fellow countrymen and empowering the next generation to do the same. In all our teaching, whether formally or informally we strive to teach and model the “First Principles” of Haiti Share: – Respect – Integrity – Mental Focus – Clear Communication We also strive to impart other essential values such as humility, hard work, responsibility, service, courage, endurance, faithfulness and love. Haiti Share is not church-affiliated but the leadership wholeheartedly believes that God is alive and active in this world today. Above all, we believe in the power of Jesus Christ to transform lives.

HAITI NATIONAL TRUST INC

We identify biodiversity hotspots in need of protection, create national parks, and work closely with local communities and the government to manage those land and marine areas. As environmental stewards, we work towards ending deforestation and using a diversity of native trees for reforestation. We involve local communities in all activities, enhancing their livelihoods and education, and increasing their sustainability. Our work helps Haiti to mitigate the effects of climate change by simultaneously locking up carbon in trees and roots and creating a wetter and cooler environment. The improved watershed also results in fewer droughts and floods, and provides Haitians with more drinking water.
