NEW ROOTS HAITI

New Roots Haiti is dedicated to empowering parents to care for their families through education, employment, and nutrition assistance.

LIVING WORD MINISTRIES TO HAITIANS INC

Living Word Ministries to Haitians has opportunities for short-term mission teams. The most needful are construction and medical/dental teams. Although there is a clinic in Mayette, the hub of the mission, there are many outlying mountain villages with no medical availability in their area. Teams are limited to 12 people because of housing. We encourage teams to have fundraisers to fund the projects they will be doing. Construction work includes building houses for village people, especially for widows and orphans & their caretakers. There are villages that need church houses. The mission compound has building projects upcoming as well. Teams usually stay for 7-10 days, including travel days. The cost of the trip is the airfare plus $250 per person for room and board, which includes food, water, and fuel to get to the work site. Please contact us if you are interested in joining a team or planning a team.

LOVING HAITI

Loving Haiti’s story began many years before founders Abby and Denny Bain made their first visit to Haiti in 2011. In 1982, Pastor Francois and Madam Romelus felt called to start a church in their small town of Pignon, caring for those in their congregation as well as the poor and marginalized in the area. Already parents to four biological children, and busy pastoring a church and serving their community, Pastor and Madam began taking in orphans and other at-risk children to live with them. They soon saw the need for a separate home to house the increasing number of children in their care, and the children’s need to be educated. Since 1982, Francois and Madam have added a children’s home, vocational sewing center and school to their 2-acre campus.

HAITIANS FOR HIS KINGDOM INC

In 2010 a devastating earthquake shook Haiti to its core killing tens of thousands of people, and leaving many homeless, destitute, and orphaned. The Living Baptist Church rose to the challenge to help people who had fled to Saint Marc for help and housing. Through the support and care of Christians in the United States over 100 families were fed and helped for over a year during that trying time. When that crisis passed, The Haitian Relief Project stayed busy helping establishing families in their communities for the support of their local church. Today the Haitian Relief Project helps Haitian people with legal documents so they are able to get jobs and attend school. We also we provide loans so families can start businesses. The Haitian Relief Project has also helped families get established in their communities through home ownership.

HAITIAN PILGRIMS

The Haitian Pilgrims serve the poor of Haiti in the spirit of Christ’s teaching: “Whatsoever you did to these, the least of my brothers and sisters, you did to me.” (Matthew 25:40). Our mission is sustained through the generosity of those who share our passion for serving the poor through their donations of prayer, time, talent, and funding. We strive to transform poor villages into thriving, self-sustaining communities. Since 1999, we have been helping several villages in Haiti become self-sustaining. Villages we have helped include, Boileau, Canon, Flamand & Dumont. We help them help themselves through community leadership, education, micro-credit, agriculture training, medicine, and wells for clean water. Our vision’s path to a self-sustaining village has been supported by six foundational pillars: Food – an agricultural program assists farmers with healthy seeds, seedlings, and livestock Water – clean water wells prevent illness from water borne diseases found in river water Medicine – medical support can include doctors, nurses, clinics and medical supplies Education – kindergarten, primary, secondary, college scholarships and adult education courses Employment – micro-credit loans enable men and women to start their own businesses Leadership – teams learn organizational and leadership skills that help their villages Haitian Pilgrims does not discriminate based on the race, gender, or religious affiliation of those who request help.
